Week in Review: Sam's Club Digs In, Aldermen OK Electric Fences, Tax Renewal on Horizon

In case you missed them, here were some of the top headlines from the last few days:

  • THF Realty broke ground on Wednesday for the new Sam's Club in Wentzville. Plans are for the retail club to open in October.
  • The Wentzville Board of Aldermen discussed putting the renewal of Wentzville's half-cent transportation sales tax on the upcoming August ballot. The citywide sales tax funds new street projects, resurfacing and maintenance.
  • Aldermen amended a proposed animal control ordinance to allow dog owners to restrain their dogs using electric fences in their back yards.
  • Holt High School junior Savannah Est earned first place at the State Science and Engineering Fair for her "Optimization of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells" project. Other area students also received awards for their entries at the fair.
