Wentzville School District Superintendent Dr. Terry Adams Resigns

  • Wentzville School District Superintendent Dr. Terry Adams has resigned after seven years with the district. Matt Deichmann, Community Relations Director for the district, confirmed the news to Patch this morning. Adams tendered his resignation during the executive session at last night's board of education meeting, and the board voted to approve the resignation.

Aldermen Agree to Pursue Possible Home Rule Charter for Wentzville

  • Wentzville's new City Administrator, Mike McDowell, brought up the topic of home rule at Wednesday night's board work session, asking for a definite thumbs-up or thumbs-down. The board had discussed the topic at their strategic planning session last month, McDowell said, "but a clear direction was not established." If the board's intent was to move forward with the change from a fourth class city to a charter city (known in Missouri as home rule), a significant amount of work would be involved, McDowell said. 

Officer Looking For Insurance Card Sniffs Out Pound of Marijuana

  • A police officer retrieving insurance cards from a glove box sniffed out more than a pound of marijuana in the back seat of a car Friday in Wentzville. A Wentzville police officer said he pulled over a driver at about 8:32 p.m. Friday at the 1390 Continental Drive. The officer reported a license plate check revealed the driver’s license was suspended and he had other outstanding warrants.

Mayors Commend Mike Potter for 12 Years of Service as Mayor of Lake Saint Louis

  • Mayor Mike Potter presided over his final meeting of the Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen Monday night. In attendance were O'Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy and St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano. Both men presented Potter with plaques commending his 12 years of service to the city of Lake Saint Louis.

  • General Motors plans to roll out a line of completely revamped midsize pickup trucks, with gas mileage and features designed to take sales from Toyota’s market-leading Tacoma. Even better, GM plans to build the trucks at its Wentzville assembly factory, which will add more than 1,200 new jobs to the local market.
