• The Lil' Shack produce stand on West Meyer is fast becoming a landmark for Wentzville residents, who look forward to fresh red tomatoes, crisp cucumbers and other locally-grown produce. With the business now in its third season, owners Jimmy, Mary and Jamie Cummings have some new offerings, including locally-produced honey, fresh eggs and Amish-made jellies, apple butter and pickled beets.

Returning Soldier Gives Wife Huge Hug At Airport

• It was a long-awaited reunion for Erin Bence, 25, of Lake Saint Louis. Her husband of just 18 months, Specialist Randy Bence, 30, returned home Sunday after nine months with the 1138th Engineering Company of the Missouri National Guard.

Unknown: Details Regarding Building Commissioner's Firing

• Diane Bolderson, Wentzville's building commissioner, was fired last week by the Wentzville Board of Aldermen and details surrounding her ouster remain unclear. Bolderson says her job was terminated because of her objection to a contract for Splash Station, an aquatic park that's part of Wentzville's massive Project Parks development. 

Audit Shows City's Investment Reporting is No Longer 'A Disaster'

• The Wentzville Board of Aldermen is feeling a little better about the city's investments. In the past, Alderman Forrest Gossett said, "the reporting was a disaster." Last year, the board asked for an accounting of the city's investments and were unhappy to find out that much of the city's money was sitting in non-interest bearing accounts.

Little Caesar's Pizza Coming to Wentzville This Fall

• Wentzville-area pizza lovers will be thrilled to hear that Little Caesar's Pizza will be opening in Wentzville in the fall. A storefront in the strip mall behind Steak N Shake posted a "Little Caesar's coming soon" sign recently, and Wentzville Patch has confirmed with the City of Wentzville that the pizza restaurant will be opening some time after August.
