Wentzville Driver Falls Asleep, Hits Guardrail, Rolls Car

Corey J. Webb, 20, of Wentzville, sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Corey J. Webb, 20, of Wentzville, was westbound on Interstate 64 in St. Louis City Saturday morning when he fell asleep at the wheel of his 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Webb was just east of McCausland at 5:12 a.m. When Webb dozed off, the vehicle traveled off the roadway, hit a guardrail and overturned.

Both Webb and a passenger in the car, Andrew D. Smartt, 22, of O'Fallon, received minor injuries, and both were transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Neither was wearing a safety belt.
