Whiz Kid Kristin Pins finishes Summa Cum Laude

Achievement: Kristin Pins, 17, a senior at Timberland High School, was honored with the George Washington Carver Award and multiple scholarships for the University of Evansville at Indiana at the school’s Senior Honors Convocation recently.

Pins, who carries a 4.1 grade point average and will graduate Summa Cum Laude in June, will attend UE in the fall with a double major in global business and French. The George Washington Carver award honors students who are ranked in the top ten percent academically in their graduating class.
Pins also received the Dean Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship and the Davidson Scholarship—all for UE—as well as the College Preparatory Studies Certificate, at the awards presentation.

Key to Awesomeness: “My parents always pushed good academics,” Kristin said of her successes. “They got me on the right track. All I ever wanted to do was get straight A’s. I work really hard to get the grades that I get. I want the 4.0 and I want the A’s and I’ve always cared about school.”
