Community Corner

New Melle Community Passion Play

The players of the New Melle Community Passion Play will
present the story of the last days of Christ for the 33ed year this April.  What began
as a legacy of love by Mariam & Gene Steward has now become an annual labor
of love by many who have been involved in the production as well as those who
return every year to watch the portrayal.

For a non-denominational/community theater production to
survive 33 years, completely on donations and volunteers is a testament of the
level of commitment made by those who work to bring this production to the
people year after year.  With the
blessings of their talent and time, giving up evenings and weekends to bring
the story to life it brings to light the fact that this is a different type of
theater – one that touches a special place in the heart of those who take part
in it as well as those who view it.  If
you have seen it before come in support of this group.  If you haven’t seen it yet, come see and be
totally awed by this great story and cast.
It is a must do Easter event.

the New Melle Sports & Recreation Center’s main building at 4700 Highway Z
in New Melle.  Performances are scheduled
