Upward Basketball Academy

Basketball fans, beginning September 10th, 2013
First Baptist Church in Wentzville will be offering Upward Academy.  Led by a master coach who has experience
taking players to the next level, Upward Academy is a six week intensive skills
development academy for 4th-8th grade boys and girls that
will provide athletes two 90-minute practices each week on Tuesday and Thursday
nights, along with three Saturday scrimmages, two high quality shooting shirts,
and more.

Born from the feedback of parents nationwide who are seeking
to better develop their child’s basketball skills and prepare them for the next
level of play, Upward Academy is an offering from Upward Sports.  Established in 1995, Upward Sports is the
world’s largest Christian sports league for youth athletics. Upward Sports is
the only youth sports program with the 360 Progression, a uniquely designed
total sports experience that adapts and expands as players develop and grow in
their personal athletic journey. The 360 Progression offers comprehensive
training and instruction that increases in intensity with each athlete as they
improve, enriching their physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth.

Upward Academy is currently only being offered in eleven
cities nationwide.  In the St. Louis region,
Wentzville First Baptist Church is the only Upward Sports church partner to be
conducting Upward Academy at this time.  Upward
Academy is meant to prepare young athletes for the next level of play, be it as
a part of a school team, travel team or Upward Basketball team.  Upward Academy will develop the mental,
athletic, spiritual and social skills necessary for an athlete to succeed both
on and off the court.  Through exposure
to the life lessons that are inherent in sports, Upward Sports athletes become
stronger in mind, body, and soul, leaving them ready to take on whatever the
future holds.
