Celebrate Earth Day in Lake St. Louis–

Drop Off Building Materials and Furniture Donation and Recycling Event hosted by Community Agencies benefiting Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County

Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County ReStore sponsored by the Lake St. Louis Advisory Committee and Lowes is offering a drop-off building materials and furniture donation and recycling event open for all who have items to donate on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 10am to 3pm.

The event will be hosted by volunteers at the Lowes at Hawks Ridge in Lake St. Louis.  Community volunteers will be on hand to accept building materials and furniture donations.  Each donation will receive a tax deduction receipt.  What can be donated?  Generally accepted items include furniture and building materials such as cabinets, appliances, vanities, new and clean carpet, doors and door accessories, windows, shutters, full and unused paint cans, lumber, tools, kitchen and bath fixtures, boxes of nails and screws, decking material, fencing, shingles, electrical accessories, toilets (1.6 gpf or less) and much more.  All items need to be in good, working condition.

The donated items are collected by the Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County ReStore.  Andrea Hughes, ReStore Manager states, “This is a win-win for our community.  This is an opportunity for people to kick off their spring cleaning, donate to a great cause, receive a tax deduction receipt and keep items out of our landfills.  Everyone wins with this event!”  After collection the items will be resold to the public at the ReStore in St. Peters at 50-90% off of original retail values.  The funds raised through the ReStore are used to build simple, decent, affordable housing for deserving families in St. Charles County.   Additionally, for each item donated it is one less item that is clogging our local landfills.  To date more 1,700 tons have been diverted in our community through the St. Charles ReStore alone!

Clean out your garage and basement and come be a part of this great event.  Donations are always accepted at the ReStore, 130 Trade Center Drive West, St. Peters, MO 63376, Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-5pm.
