Wolves Fall Short to Cross Town Arch Rival Indians, 10-0

Timberland loses a heart breaker to cross town rival Holt 10-0.

9/7/12. WENTZVILLE, MO. For the second week in a row, the Timberland football team has had issues with Missouri's not constant weather. Last week's game against Washington was postponed until Saturday due to Tornado warnings, and Friday's game against Holt was shortly delayed due to Thunderstorms. The Wolves took on rival Holt with strong winds, scattered showers, and a mud covered field once again.

In a packed stadium, the battle of Wentzville began by Holt kicking off to start the game. The Wolves were immediately held to a three and out on their opening drive. After a punt by Timberland senior punter Travis Arndt, the Indians took the ball back and scored on a long touchdown pass to start the game on top 7-0. The game was a definite defensive battle by both teams for the duration the entire game. The Indians defense held the Wolves to a shutout, while the Wolves held Holt to only 10 points. Neither team's Offense could put a drive together all game long. In the 3rd quarter the Indians kicked a long field goal to put the Indians up 10-0. The defensive battle ended up with only three points being scored in the second half, and only 10 the entire game.

The Indians have won the past 3 meetings against the Wolves. Next Friday Timberland travels to Ft. Zumwalt West to take on the Jaguars.
