Wolves win big over Howell North 52-13

Wolves win big over Knights 52-13; highest points scored yet this season.

10/12/12. After coming off a 42-7 beat down the previous week to Howell, the Wolves looked ahead to their next game on the road against winless Howell North on their senior night.

The Wolves defense stopped the Knights on their first drive and the Wolves took over at their own 27 yard line. Timberland scored first on a 73 yard drive that was capped off by a 42 yard touchdown run by Senior RB Lucas Jordan. However, the Knights struck back and scored a touchdown on the following drive. Due to a missed extra point attempt, the score was 7-6 in the 1st quarter. Later in the quarter, Senior LB Austin Grubbs returned an interception about 83 yards for a Wolves touchdown. In the 2nd quarter, QB Rain Bainbridge connected 25 yards to Senior TE John Hummel for a Wolves touchdown. Later in the half, the Wolves capitalized once again on a turnover when Sophomore safety Jared Renfroe had an interception that was returned 85 yards for a touchdown. Jordan scored once again on a 3 yard run up the middle. With the Wolves starters on the bench, and most of the second and third string players in the game, the Wolves scored two more times in the 4th quarter. Sophomore QB Andrew Jehle and RB Justin Freed both had rushing touchdowns.

The final score was 52-13 Timberland. This was the highest scoring game for the Wolves yet this season. The 3-5 Wolves will take on Ft.Zumwalt North (4-4) Friday night at Scott Swofford Stadium. The matchup will be the last game of the regular season and also senior night for Timberland.
