Pontooneers Enjoy Horse Racing at Fairmount Park

On May 10th fifty-eight Lake St Louis Pontooneers went to Fairmount Park for day of horse racing.

On May 10th fifty-eight LSL Pontooneers went to Fairmount Park for an afternoon of horse racing.  We met at the LSL CA  Clubhouse and carpooled from there.  Everyone was given an envelope with directions, their entrance tickets and an attendance prize ticket. We reserved the First Turn Cafe and enjoyed a lunch buffet. After lunch we pulled four attendance prize tickets and awarded to Deloris Bear, Judy Kersey, Jean Conger and SalleeAnn Thomas the right to go to the Winners Circle and award the trophy to winning horse's owner.  The second race of the day was the Trophy Race and  was named for the Lake St Louis Missouri Pontooneers.  As part of the program we were also given an 8 x 10 photo of the presentation.

Several of the group won on the racing and one even won the Daily Double.  It was a beautiful day and some gathered outside on the patio to watch the races.

After the races were over, we traveled to Fast Eddie's in Alton Il. for shrimp and hamburgers before heading home.  All agreed that it was a great outing and that we should do it again in July.

We have planned another day at the races for July 26th.  Since this is an extra event for the Pontooneers there is a charge of $16.00 per person. Anyone interested in joining us should contact Joan or John  Bloecher at 314-605-6111
