Pontooners Celebrate with a Wine and Cheese Tasting Party on the Lake

On Sunday, June 26th, the Pontooneers came together at the lake house of Donnette and Chuck Gatschensberger for our monthly party. This month the Mo Vintners Association, as well as Chuck and Donette, provided us with a wine tasting to go along with the hors d'oeuvres provided by the Pontooneers. During the event, the Boeing Jazz Band, that is led by Dave Meagher, serenaded us to some wonderful music.

The Gatschenbergers have a view of the lake, as well as a sparkling pool, that provided us with a cooling view, and some to cool their feet, and to eat the potluck dinner provided by the great Lake St Louis Pontooner Cooks.

Attendance prizes of gift certificates to Kitaro Bistro of Japan, were given to Marge Green and Sallee Ann Thomas. Winners of bottles of wine from the Vintners Association were Carol Trollope, Barb Couture, Steve Brown, Jerry Knott and Gary Torlina. Shirley Oellermann was the lucky winner of the 50/50 prize.

The volunteers, pictured above, are, in addition to Chuck and Donnette, Ray and Deloris Bear, Joyce Corey, Paul Borriello, Maryrose and Dale Childress, Barb Couture, Christie and Ken Iverson and Jan Nevrenchan.

Our next event will be in the clubhouse on July 17th at 3 p.m. Our theme this month is the "1904 World's Fair." For those who aren't lifetime residents, you will get a real interesting lesson on the St Louis fair. Ladies, bring out those big hats.
