Friday Food Critic: 54th Street Grill and Bar

Each week, we nominate a new restaurant for you to review. That's right, you're the local expert.

When it comes to restaurants,  has it covered.

We have some great local places that many would consider community gems; we have some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop but are unique to the area; and we certainly—for better or for worse—have plenty of chains lining our main streets.

But what we don't have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not.

That's where you come in.

We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out.

It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark.

That's why we are introducing  column, where each week we will put a different restaurant on the chopping block. You tell us how you feel about it, what dishes are good, who has the best drink specials and so forth.

This week's restaurant is , a national chain restaurant with just six Greater St. Louis-area locations in addition to the Wentzville grill, and no other locations in St. Charles County.

To review , simply click on their name (or on ). You'll be directed toward their community listing in our places directory, where you can rate them on a five-star system or write a personal review.

At Wentzville Patch, we believe your words of wisdom are better than any food critic.

What are you waiting for? Let the reviewing begin!

Love the Summer Salad. Hubby likes the Cowboy Sandwich. Only complaint is how much they dim the lighting at dinner time.

Food has always been good. The service has also been good. Not always as clean as it could be in dinning area.

Try the Gringo Dip! I've tried almost everything on the lunch menu and it has all been very good.

You can't go wrong. Their variety would please anyone's taste. This is the first place I would recommend to anyone. One improvement could be lighting. If you're over 60, you may have trouble reading the menu.

Great place to eat and enjoy the companionship of friends and family. The burgers and fries are super. The folks at the bar are ready to serve you at a moment’s notice. They pay attention to you every need. The management is very friendly and work hard at making the restaurant a great place to visit.
