Good morning, Lake Saint Louis!
I must have been listening to the wrong weather reports yesterday.
I was expecting to see something cold and wet coming from the skies this morning when I took the dogs out, but it's just a typical gray January day out there. It didn't even get cold enough last night to make the horses' water buckets ice over.
I'm not complaining, mind you. I'm just a little—wistful, maybe?—about the lack of winter weather. I really don't mind some snow, or even sleet and ice. I like that the weather can remind us that there are things in this world that we have no control over. I think we all need to be reminded from time to time how little power we really have.
But we do all have control over some aspects of our lives. For instance, I can tell you with a degree of certainty what you'll be seeing on Lake Saint Louis Patch today (barring breaking news—another of those uncertain aspects of journalism).
The , and you'll see that Mother Nature had a good deal of control over the events of Jan. 12.
. It's good to see nominations come in for Lake Saint Louis businesses. (Even if I don't quite share the enthusiasm for sushi.)
