6-Year-Old Wentzville Boy Seriously Injured in ATV Accident

The boy was riding an ATV on private property when the throttle on the ATV he was riding became struck and the boy lost control of the vehicle.

A 6-year-old boy from Wentzville was seriously injured Saturday in an ATV accident. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boy was driving the ATV on private property near River Oaks Lane in Crawford County. The throttle on the ATV the boy was riding on became stuck and he lost control before being tossed from the vehicle. 

He was later air-lifted to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

The highway patrol website says the boy was not wearing a safety device, although it was unclear if that meant he was not wearing a helmet.
