A Different Kind of Gas Drive-Away: Emergency Vehicles Swarm Shell Station Monday Night

Lake Saint Louis Police assure residents that no crime was involved, and there is no cause for alarm.

Residents driving by the Shell Station on Lake Saint Louis Boulevard near I-70 Monday night couldn't help but notice the emergency vehicles and police tape.

Lake Saint Louis Assistant Police Chief Chris Digiuseppi spoke to Patch and explained the incident, which he said was "not a big deal."

Digiuseppi said that a motorist who was fueling at the station drove off with the pump handle still in his gas tank. The pump nozzle was torn away and gas spilled on the ground.
