Chesterfield Man Killed on I-70 Near Wentzville

Traffic was backed up for miles Saturday after pedestrian was struck on the road.

A Chesterfield man walking along Interstate 70 near Wentzville was killed Saturday after being struck by a truck.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 4 p.m. Saturday just east of the 205 mile marker on I-70.

A 2005 Freighliner truck, driven by Timothy C. Aldridge, 46, of Camilla, GA, was heading eastbound on I-70 when a pedestrian walked into the path of the truck.

The pedestrian, Christopher P. Grimes, 49, Chesterfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel. His body was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue. 

The driver of the truck was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
