Corey Brown Trial Date Set

Child molestation case goes to trial on June 21.

A date has been set for the trial of Corey Lane Brown, who was arrested by Lake Saint Louis police on Dec. 15, 2010 and charged with two counts of statutory rape, six counts of statutory sodomy and two counts of child molestation.

The case has been reassigned to Division 2, under Judge Nancy Schneider, with a trial date set for June 21 according to Dennis Chassaniol, Brown's attorney. Chassaniol told Lake Saint Louis Patch that the date was still being looked at to make sure it would work out for everyone involved.

Court documents state that while in the hospital in December 2010, Brown told a social worker that he had been "sexually inappropriate" with two young girls, ages eight and nine. When a Lake Saint Louis detective served him with an order of protection, Brown told the officer he wanted to talk about the incidents.

The detective's report states that Brown told him the incidents with an older girl date back to 2007 and that he began molesting the younger girl in July. The detective estimated Brown molested the older girl 234 times and the younger girl 34 times.
