Five Injured in June 26 Accident on Hwy. 61 at P

Three of the injured were children.

A St. Charles woman received moderate injuries in an accident Tuesday, June 26 on Highway 61 north of Wentzville, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Paige E. Valenci, 17, of St. Charles, was eastbound on Hwy. P at 4:06 p.m. in a Chrysler Sebring, when she attempted to cross over Hwy. 61.

A Jeep Cherokee driving by Donna M. Kelby, 56, of Wright City, was traveling northbound on Hwy. 61 and struck the driver's side of Valenci's car.

Valenci's car was totaled and Valenci was transported to St. Joseph's Health Center by ambulance.

All the passengers in Kelby's car received minor injuries. Kelby, Makayla H. Lancaster, age 10, Dominic A. Lancaster, age 8, and Jeremy A. Bushman, age 4, were taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center.

The drivers of both cars and all the passengers were wearing safety belts.
