Foristell Man Attacks Son With Baseball Bat, Police Say

Mark A. Calloni was charged Monday with child abuse.

A Foristell man is accused of hitting his son in the head and body with a wooden baseball bat on Friday.

Mark Allen Calloni, 46, of the 100 block of South Main Street in Foristell, was charged Monday with child abuse.

The boy tried to get away, but Calloni tackled him to the ground and pinned him down, police said.

Calloni was on probation in Warren County for second-degree domestic assault , endangering the welfare of a child and felonious restraint for a 2005 assault, also on his son.

Calloni is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $100,000, cash only, and he is to have no contact with his son.
