UPDATE: Gas Station Robbery Last Night In Lake Saint Louis

Suspects may also have been involved in a second robbery and were apprehended in St. Louis County.

UPDATE: Lake Saint Louis Police have issued a press release confirming that the Shell gas station/convenience store at 1001 Lake Saint Louis Boulevard was robbed at approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday night. 

While one suspect waited at the door, another forced the clerk at gunpoint to hand over $55 and 23 packs of cigarettes. Witnesses saw the two suspects run from the gas station and get into a white Chrysler Sebring.

Lake Saint Louis Police immediately notified surrounding agencies. The department  received information at 11 p.m. that a gas station on Truman Boulevard near I-70 in St. Charles had also been robbed and that the suspect's vehicle matched the description of the car used in the earlier robbery in Lake Saint Louis.

About 40 minutes later, a Missouri Highway Patrol trooper in St. Louis County stopped a vehicle on Interstate 70 near St. Charles Rock Road. The car matched the description of the car used in both robberies, and the car's occupants were taken into custody. The case remains under investigation.

According to St. Charles County W.O.R.L.D.S. website the at 1001 Lake Saint Louis Boulevard was robbed last night at about 10 p.m.

Unconfirmed reports say that two black male suspects took an unknown amount of money at gunpoint and fled toward Denny's. Police were looking for a white Chrysler Sebring that may have a handicap plate and was believed to be heading west.

An update at 11:20 indicated that a second robbery had occurred at the Circle K station on Truman Blvd. and that police stopped a car on I-70 in St. Louis county that matched the description. Suspects are in custody in St. Charles.
