Chuck Berry's Wentzville Estate Robbed of Vintage Guitar

The alleged thieves targeted Chuck Berry's 35-acre property near Wentzville several times in the past week to steal the guitar and other items.

The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department is investigating reports of items stolen from rock 'n roll legend Chuck Berry's estate near Wentzville.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that one of Berry's electric guitars and some power tools went missing from an unlocked office building and attached garage at the 35-acre "Berry Park" on Buckner Road.

Fox2 News reported that the guitar, a valuable 1978 Gibson ES-355, was reported stolen on Monday. On Tuesday, sheriff's department staff were called back about the stolen tools, which included 3 power washers, among other items.

Berry's neighbors called police Thursday about a suspicious van and U-Haul-type truck on the property. Deputies took three men into custody, although no charges have been filed.
