Homeless Man Robs Good Samaritan Before Stealing Car, Police Say

Joshua Frillman was charged with 1st degree robbery and 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle, and is being held at the St. Charles County Adult Correctional Facility on a $50,000.00 dollar bond.

A homeless man who was staying in Wentzville has been arrested for robbing a Warrenton man who was trying to help him and then stealing a car in Wentzville, police say.

The story began on Dec. 30 when Ervin Yoder, 53, of Warrenton, met Joshua Frillman, 25, at a business in Warrenton. Yoder told police that Frillman had an injured hand and Yoder offered to drive him to the hospital.

After Frillman was treated at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis, Yoder drove him to Wentzville, bought him something to eat and then took him to an address in Wentzville where Frillman said he was staying.

Frillman then pulled a knife and demanded money from him, Yoder stated. Yoder complied, and Frillman ran away.

The next day, a Warrenton woman reported that her 1999 Isuzu Amigo was stolen from her workplace on Shadow Trace Drive in Wentzville. The woman suspected that her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Frillman, had taken the car using a spare key.

A Missouri State Highway Patrolman identified Frillman and the stolen Isuzu Amigo in Phelps County and took him into custody until Wentzville police arrived.

Frillman was charged with 1st degree robbery and 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle. He is being held at the St. Charles County Adult Correctional Facility on a $50,000.00 dollar bond.
