Lake Saint Louis Man Arrested After Holding Gun to Woman's Head

James A. Blattner admitted to police that he had been drinking and that the gun was loaded.

James A. Blattner, of the 1800 block of Gascony Park in Lake Saint Louis, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon after he held a loaded shotgun to the head of a woman on June 15.


According to the probable cause statement signed by Lake Saint Louis police, Blattner grabbed the victim and threw her against a concrete wall. He then took the safety off of a Winchester shotgun, held it to her head and threatened to kill her.


According to the statement, Blattner's eyes were bloodshot and he admitted the gun was loaded and he had been drinking.

Bond was set at $50,000, but then reduced to $10,000 with the consent of the victim. A surety bond was posted June 20. Case review is scheduled for July 11 at 9 a.m.
