Lake Saint Louis Man Injured in I-70 Accident Sept. 29

Larry J. Smith, 61, of Lake Saint Louis, received minor injuries in an accident on Thursday, Sept. 29 on Interstate 70.

Smith, driving a 1994 Ford F150 pickup, failed to notice slowing and merging traffic on westbound I-70 east of Lake Saint Louis Boulevard and struck a unit being towed by Jacob Stevens, 41, of Florence, AL.

Smith's vehicle then left the roadway, returned to the roadway, and stuck the towed unit a second time.

Jacobs' tow vehicle, a 1988 Ford Clubwagon, received only minor damage.

Smith was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for minor injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that both drivers were wearing safety belts at the time of the accident.
