Lake Saint Louis Man Stole Car From Sister's Boyfriend, Police Say

The man was arrested driving the car in Cool Valley, according to a police report.

A Lake Saint Louis man faces criminal charges after police said he was caught driving a car reported stolen by his sister’s boyfriend.

Mathew Mantro, 25, of the 100 block of Sunglow Drive in Lake Saint Louis, was charged Oct. 5 with stealing a vehicle.

St. Louis County Police said the victim was leaving his girlfriend’s house Aug. 11 when he discovered his Honda Accord was missing from the driveway in the 1200 block of Magdalena Court in unincorporated St. Louis County east of Maryland Heights. He had been at his girlfriend’s home Aug. 10 until the early morning hours of Aug. 11. Mantro also was there, police said.

Mantro was arrested less than a week later driving the car in Cool Valley.

Bail was set at $10,000.
