Lake Saint Louis Man Stole Items from Neighbors, Cars, Police Say

Officers found the items in a secret compartment in the man's home, Lake Saint Louis Police said.

Lake Saint Louis Police arrested a man who burglarized a neighbors home and stole items from three cars on Jan. 2.

Police found some of the stolen items in a secret compartment behind a kitchen pantry in the man’s home in the first block of Cannes Court in Lake Saint Louis.

Lake Saint Louis Police said Ross Glenn Langdon, 21, entered a neighbor’s home in the first block of Cannes Court Wednesday through an unlocked door and took electronic items visible from a window. Residents were home when Langdon stole the items, which were valued at about $8,715.

Police said officers searched Langdon’s home and found the items in the secret compartment along with other items he had stolen the same night. Langdon told them about the secret compartment during the investigation, according to a police report.

Police said the man also stole items from three cars on Jan. 2:

  • Stole a U.S. Bank card from an unlocked car in the first block of Normandy Drive;
  • Took $15 in change, a garage door opener and two Lowe’s bags with $50 in merchandise from a car in the first block of Lemans Place;
  • Shattered a passenger-side window and took a purse from a second car in the first block of Lemans Place. Items in the purse were valued at $240. Damage to the car was estimated at $200.

Langdon was charged Thursday with first-degree burglary, one felony count of stealing and three misdemeanor counts of stealing. He was being held Friday in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $25,000.
