Lake Saint Louis Woman Charged with Forging Checks From Her Fenton Employer for Three Years

Debra Auzat Murphy allegedly wrote herself checks totaling more than $25,000.

A Lake Saint Louis woman is charged with forging checks to herself from her Fenton-based employer.

Debra Auzat Murphy, 55, is accused of writing 33 checks to herself and her credit card company totaling more than $25,000 between April 1, 2009 and April 1, 2011, according to a St. Louis County Police report. She was charged with the crime last week.

Murphy admitted to forging the checks, according to court documents. She worked for Construction Appliance Supply at 1626 Headland Drive in Fenton.

Bond was set at $25,000.
