Man Assaults Daughter Over Argument Over Drinking, Deputy Says

A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy said Kenneth W. Oisten could not recall the assault due to his level of intoxication.

A man assaulted his daughter while the two were arguing over the need for him to stop drinking.

Kenneth Willis Oisten, 53, of the 1000 block of Dardenne Woods Drive in St. Charles County just east of Lake Saint Louis, was charged Thursday with two counts of third-degree domestic assault, assault an officer and resisting arrest.

A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Oisten became aggressive while arguing with his daughter about his drinking and grabbed his daughter’s hair and pulled her to the ground.

His daughter’s boyfriend heard her screaming and intervened. Police said Oisten grabbed the boyfriend’s arm, causing him to fear for his safety.

When deputies arrived, Oisten resisted arrest by refusing to put his hands behind his back. Deputies took Oisten to the ground and he curled his arms so deputies could not handcuff him. Once handcuffed, Oisten refused to walk and had to be carried out.

While being carried out, Oisten wrapped his legs around the officer’s legs and began squeezing tightly. The deputy reported that he hit Oisten to get him to let loose, according to a court document.

The deputy reported Oisten could not remember the assault due to the level of his intoxication at the time.
