Man Stuffed Trash Can Full of Items From Target Before Leaving Store

Wentzville Police said William Held paid for the trash can, but not the items he stashed inside, with a stolen credit card.

A Wright City man was charged with theft after police said he snuck items out in a trash can.

William Held, 39, of the first block of Appaloosa Way in Wright City, was charged March 26 with felony theft.

Wentzville Police said security tapes show Held filled a trash can inside a box with items from Target in Wentzville, 1883 Wentzville Parkway. He then paid only for the trashcan and left the store.  Held also used a credit card that was not his, police said.
