A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Lovelace took the telephone away from his grandmother Jan. 26 and would not allow her to call her daughter.  When she reached for the phone, he punched her in the arm, according to a court document.

He then put the elderly woman in her bedroom until he was confronted by her daughter later that morning, a deputy reported.
