Men Charged with Stealing $2,000 in Jewelry from Lake Saint Louis Home

The men stole jewelry from a girlfriend's stepmother, police said.

Two men were charged April 24 for stealing jewelry valued at $2,070 from a Lake Saint Louis home on April 20.

Lake Saint Louis Police said in a report that Christopher Gamma, 22, of O’Fallon, and Jason Wollgast, 23, of Lake Saint Louis, stole the jewelry that belonged to Wollgast’s girlfriend’s stepmother. They then sold it at a pawn shop and jewelry store for about $355.

Gamma and Wollgast both told police they stole the jewelry because they needed gas money.

Bond was set at $3,000 each.
