Motorcyclist Raced Up to 120 mph Fleeing Police on I-70, Police Say

A motorcyclist raced up to 120 mph on Interstate 70 while fleeing police and weaving in and out of traffic Sunday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper.

Scott Queensen, 25, of the first block of Shaker Leg Court in O’Fallon, was charged Tuesday with resisting arrest by fleeing, creating a substantial risk of injury or death.

The state trooper wrote in a report that he marked Queensen doing 97 mph on his 2008 Suzuki motorcycle on eastbound I-70 east of Lake Saint Louis Boulevard. The officer said he activated his emergency lights and slowed down below the speed limit in front of the motorcycle.

At first, Queensen slowed down and would not pass him, but then he accelerated to 120 mph and began driving around traffic erratically, the trooper said.

A witness called in and gave police Queensen’s license plate number and was able to identify the motorcycle.

The next day, the trooper arrested Queensen at his parents’ home. Queensen asked his parents not to show the trooper his motorcycle parked inside the garage. His parents confirmed the motorcycle was parked in the garage.

Queensen denied any knowledge of the incident.

In July, Queensen was charged in St. Charles County with driving while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanor. He also was convicted in Ohio in 2007 for fleeing from police, the trooper said.

Queensen posted $15,000 bond and was released from custody. He is not allowed to drive.
