Naked Lake Saint Louis Man Breaks Into St. Charles County Home

A naked man forced open a door to break into a St. Charles County home while the homeowner was present at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy reported that Joseph M. Mahoney, 24, was completely nude as he broke into the home in the 200 block of Willis Drive near St. Peters.
Lt. Craig McGuire of the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department said Mahoney broke in through a back door and began pounding on the closed bedroom door where the resident was sleeping. The man got a shotgun, opened the door and kept Mahoney there until Sheriff’s deputies responded.
“When deputies arrived, (Mahoney) was incoherent and mumbling,” McGuire said. He said Mahoney, who did not know the resident, was extremely drunk.
Mahoney also damaged a garage door by hitting it with an unknown object, according to a court document.
Mahoney was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary, property damage and second-degree sexual misconduct.Bail was set at $25,000, cash only for Mahoney.
