"Operation A.R.R.E.S.T." Comes to St. Charles County This Weekend

Missouri State Troopers will be on the lookout for drunk drivers Saturday night.

According to a press release issued by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, five Missouri state troopers will be involved in a project called "Operation A.R.R.E.S.T."  in St. Charles County this weekend.

A.R.R.E.S.T stands for Alcohol Related Response Enforcement Strike Team. Starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19 and ending at 3 a.m. Sunday, March 20, the troopers will seek "to increase the motoring public’s awareness of the potential hazards of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition, to maximize enforcement efforts in deterring impaired driving, remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways, and to reduce fatalities and injuries through vigorous enforcement of Missouri traffic laws," according to Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C at Weldon Spring.

The troopers were selected for "their dedication and leadership in removing intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways."
