Police Blotter: Man Tricks Cashier, Steals $760 from Open Register

Driving While Intoxicated

  • On March 2, Lake St. Louis Police Officers responded to Rue Grand in reference to a motor vehicle that had crashed into a residence. There were no reports of injury. An officer arrested a 29-year-old male for driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender, driving with a revoked license, attempting to leave the scene of a motor vehicle crash, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and an active arrest warrant. A search warrant was later obtained to seize a blood sample of driver’s blood. Multiple charges to be applied for once laboratory results are obtained.
  • On March 3, a Lake St. Louis Police Officer stopped a vehicle for speeding 80-mph in a 60-mph zone on westbound I-70 near Lake St. Louis Boulevard. The officer arrested a 24-year-old male for driving while intoxicated. The driver’s blood alcohol content was later measured at .089 BAC.

  • On March 2, a Lake St. Louis Police Officer responded to Ronald Reagan Drive for a delayed report of shoplifting. The incident is being investigating as a felony theft.
  • On March 2, a Lake Saint Louis Police Officer responded to Dad's Bottle Shop, 1401 Lake St. Louis Boulevard, in reference to money being stolen from the cash register on Friday by a male approximately between 35- and 40-years-old. It was reported that the suspect stole $760 from an open cash register during a purchase. The suspect distracted the store employee by throwing loose change onto the floor. As the employee began picking up the change from the floor, the suspect reached over the counter and removed $760 from the cash register. No further description of the suspect at this time.

Peace Disturbance

  • On March 3 Lake St. Louis Police Officers responded to the area of Lake St. Louis Blvd. and Hunter Court for a report of a peace disturbance of a female yelling and screaming. A 25-year-old female was charged with peace disturbance as a result of the investigation.

Possession

  • A 25-year-old female was caught in possession of a controlled substance on March 5 at Highway N. This case will be referred to the St. Charles County Prosecutor's Office for consideration of charges.
