Police: Man Stole Truck From Wentzville, Took It on DWI Ride

Police said they found the man and the truck stopped at a gas station in Foristell with the pickup's engine running.

Police said man stole a 1999 Ford F-350 from a business and was caught with the truck in Foristell.

David Dunker, 54, of the 21100 block of South Stracks Road in Wright City, was charged Thursday with tampering with a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.

said Dunker took the vehicle owned by Joerling Brothers Trucking from private property in the 2500 block of West Pearce Blvd., at about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday without the owner’s permission.

Foristell Police spotted the vehicle parked with the engine running on the Mr. Fuel parking lot near Hwy. W and Interstate 70.  Foristell Police reported that when Dunker was arrested, he had a moderate smell of alcohol, could not keep his balance and needed assistance with standing.

The Foristell officer said his speech was slurred, and his eyes were glassy, bloodshot and watery. He said Dunker failed a sobriety test, and refused to take a breathalyzer.

Bond was set at $25,000, cash only.
