Possible Child Abduction Near Lake Saint Louis

The 12-year-old was reported missing this morning.

The St. Louis Post-Distpatch is reporting that a 12-year-old girl may have been abducted from her home in unincorporated St. Charles County near Lake Saint Louis.

According to the report, the girl told her mother she was going to see a friend but instead voluntarily went into a U-Haul van or truck that was being driven by a family friend.

The information was provided by Lt. Craig McGuire of the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department.

When she entered the van or truck it was outside her home on Viewpoint Lane, off Highway 40-61 in unincorporated St. Charles County.

Viewpoint Lane is situated between the Lake Saint Louis Boulevard and Ronald Reagan Drive exits of Highway 40-61.

The friend is a man in his 40s, McGuire said in the report.
