Sleeping Wentzville Man Is Victim of Sexual Act in Josephville

A St. Charles County deputy said the man awoke to find another man performing a sexual act on him, began yelling and punched the defendant in the face.

A Foristell man faces a criminal charge for performing a sex act on another man as he slept Sunday.

Nathaniel Dickherber, 23, of the 10200 block of Forest Trails in Foristell, was charged Friday with deviate sexual assault.

A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy reported that a group of people gathered in the 1300 block of Josephville Road in Josephville Saturday night to play cards. Deputies said there was casual drinking throughout the night, and all parties went to bed.

Dickherber told several people he did not want to go to bed, and he stayed awake.

A Sheriff’s deputy reported that at 6:15 a.m., a man sleeping on the couch—identified as a 23-year-old Wentzville man—was awakened to Dickherber performing a sexual act on him. The man began yelling and punched Dickherber in the face, the deputy said. He then woke up everyone in the apartment and told them what happened, according to court documents.

The man left the apartment and called police. Dickherber told police he had been drinking all night and blacked out and did not remember anything during the later part of the evening, according to the deputy's report.

Dickherber was being held Monday in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $25,000.
