Toddler, 10-Year-Old Taken to Hospital After Car Crash on I-70

Two young children were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Creve Coeur after the car they were riding in crashed along Interstate 70 in Lake Saint Louis early Monday morning.

Two young children, one a 3-year-old toddler, were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries after the car they were riding in crashed on Interstate 70 at the Lake Saint Louis Boulevard exit.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Erin Windau, 30, of Troy, was driving her Dodge Caravan along I-70 at 4:11 a.m. Monday morning when she traveled off the right side of the road and struck the concrete bridge abutment. 

The two children, ages 3 and 10, sustained moderate injuries, the highway patrol reported. The younger child was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur and the older chld was taken to SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.

Windau, according to the highway patrol, did not sustain injuries.
