Victims Identified in Fatal Hwy. 61 Crossover Crash

The crossover accident at 4:10 Monday afternoon closed down Hwy. 61 for several hours.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the names of the victims in yesterday's fatal crossover accident on Highway 61 just north of Wentzville.

The fatalities were Roger A. Peek, 52 of Moscow Mills and Eugene O. Haggard, 39, of Troy. 

According to the MSHP, Peek's 1997 Oldsmobile Eighty-eight crossed the median into the northbound lanes and struck Haggard's 2001 Chevy Silverado head-on. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. 

Neither of the victims were wearing safety devices.

A third vehicle, a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta being driven by David A. Huskey, 44, of Foristell, was struck by debris from the crash. Huskey sustained minor injuries.
