'Voices In His Head' Lead to Attempted Kidnapping in Stone Meadows

John Calvin Perry III of Wentzville was arrested after he tried to kidnap a seven-year-old girl from her front porch Sunday.

John Calvin Perry III told police that it was the voices in his head that drove him to grab a seven-year-old girl off her front porch Sunday in Wentzville's Stone Meadows subdivision, KSKD reported yesterday.

Luckily, the child's mother witnessed the incident and chased after them. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Perry threw the girl down and ran away.

The 20-year-old Wentzville man was arrested for felony kidnapping and is being held on $200,000 cash-only bond. According to Missouri Casenet, he has been order to have no contact with any child under the age of 18.

The child was not harmed in the incident. 

On August 8, Perry was released on his own recognizance from jail after a July 30 arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence

In that incident, Perry assaulted his sister, choking the woman on three occasions in one day, police said. He could not give police a reason that he was choking her, but said he could not control his urges.
