Wentzville Fire District Eliminates Single Family Code Enforcement
Fire Department-issued building permits for new construction, replacement or repairs of detached single-family or two-family dwellings will no longer be required.

The following information is for immediate release to the staff and citizens of the Wentzville Fire Protection District. This information is being disseminated due to the changes in the Fire District operations following the implementation of State Statute 321.228. For further information or questions please contact the office of the Fire Marshal or the office of the Fire Chief of the Wentzville Fire Protection District.
Effective at the close of business on August 28th 2012, citizens and/or builders within the boundaries of the Wentzville Fire Protection District will no longer be required to apply for building permits for the new construction and erection of detached single-family or two-family dwellings as well as any alteration, enlargement, replacement or repair of detached single-family or two-family dwellings.

The Wentzville Fire Protection District will not refund any permit fees for permits on file with the Fire District. The District staff will continue to fulfill the obligations of those permits currently on file. After the close of business on August 28, 2012, if you would like an inspection on a permit which had been issued prior to that date, we ask that you contact the Fire District to schedule an appointment.
The Wentzville Fire Protection District remains committed to the safety of its citizens and firefighters. As such, we will continue to provide inspections and guidance based upon the latest revisions of the International Building and Fire Codes if requested.
