Wentzville Firefighters Rescue a Dog

Animal saved from a mobile home fire.

The responded to a report of a fire in a mobile home in the 200 block of Colt Circle at 4:11 p.m. on Thursday, March 24. 

Upon arrival, the firefighters found dark smoke coming from a mobile home. The crew made entry and found dense smoke and fire in the living room of the residence. The fire units made an aggressive fire attack and extinguished the fire. 

While conducting a search of the residence the fire crews rescued a dog.

Emergency crews used the “Pet Oxygen Masks” from a Lake Saint Louis fire engine to give oxygen to the dog. The dog responded and became more active. 

The pet oxygen masks were donated to the area fire departments by citizens from the fire districts. Emergency units from Wentzville, O’Fallon and Lake Saint Louis responded to the call.

The fire was placed under control at 4:26 p.m. The residence sustained heavy damage from fire and smoke. 

Fire investigators were called to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. 

The Wentzville Fire District covers 88 square miles of Western St. Charles County and includes the cities of Wentzville, Foristell, Flint Hill, and Josephville; as well as large portions of Lake Saint Louis, Dardenne Prairie and O’Fallon.
