Wentzville Man Says He Doesn't Know Why He Choked His Sister, Police Say

A man told police he didn’t know why he attempted to strangle his sister on Tuesday in Wentzville. The man told police it felt like he lost control of his body.

John Calvin Perry III, 20, of the 100 block of Hockman Drive in Wentzville, was charged Tuesday with third-degree domestic assault.

Wentzville Police said the sister told them she was in her bedroom, sitting on her bed with her 9-month-old child when Perry came in and said, “I love you, but I’m sorry.”

Perry then began choking her with the baby on the bed beside her, police said. The woman freed herself and left the room, but Perry followed her and again began choking her. He left the room, but returned and began choking her a third time, police said.

The woman again freed herself, grabbed her child and ran outside without pants on and drove to a relative’s home, according to police.

Perry told officers he felt upset with his sister, but he couldn’t say why he was upset, according to a police report.

Perry is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $15,000, cash only, and he is to have no contact with his sister.
