Wentzville Man Sentenced in Lincoln County Assault

Nicholas Evans was sentenced to 13 years for the assault at George's Bar in Troy.

A Wentzville man has been sentenced in an assault that resulted in a traumatic brain injury and the near death of a Lincoln County man.

In a press release, Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney Leah Askey said that Nicholas Evans, 23, of Wentzville, was sentenced to 13 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Evans was found guilty of first degree assault and felony armed criminal action by a Lincoln County jury in April in the assault at Georgee’s Bar in Troy in December 2011.

“Cases like this are never easy. One young man’s life has been forever changed because of the traumatic brain injury he received as a result of a savage and senseless beating and another young man’s life will be forever changed as he spends the next decade in prison because of the poor choices he made one evening at a bar," Askey said.

"I hope the disposition of this case will allow the victim’s family to move forward in their healing process.”
