At St. Louis Bread Company, an unknown person broke out the passenger window of a black 2007 Ford Ranger pickup and took a black purse. Inside the purse was a Glock 9mm handgun, prescription medicine and other items.

The department also issued this reminder:

The Wentzville Police Department would like to remind our citizens and those visiting our City to please not leave purses, cell phones, GPS devices and other items of value unattended in vehicles.  A much better practice would be to secure these items in a trunk or glove box or at least cover them with something.
