I was one of the people who got a citation that day for crossing the railroad tracks. I told the officer that i was trying to get my one year old home so that i could get him out of the heat he had already drank all of his juice that i brought for him. I live 4 house's down Meyer Rd. The police officer did not care he wanted me to walk him down to Linn Ave. and cross there. I told him well I guess I will have to take the ticket because my sons health is more important than a ticket. He proceeded to tell me that I was destroying property by walking on the rocks that hold the rail road track in place as well (Yeah Right) What ever happened to protect and serve the officer could have said go ahead cross get your son in the ac and get him some water if you do it again you will get a ticket no matter what. What would that officer have felt like if he had to respond to a heat related injury for my son. Would he have cared I'm not sure. I go over to the flea market just about every Sunday to get Fruit for my family like i was doing the day i got the ticket. I am not some kid walking down the tracks i am a upstanding citizen that is part of Wentzville Chamber of Commerce and Networking groups etc. I have lived in Wentzville all my life and have never been in trouble with the law. My father was a Wentzville cop in the 80's I used to help him at police fuctions and dress up as McGruff the Crime Dog for the kids. I respect police but this ticket first mentality has got to go
