A witness called police when he spotted two men wearing masks who had broken into Imo’s Pizza in Wentzville. The men were caught in Warrenton, police said.
Paul Kendel Bruning III, 21, of Silex, and Jacob M. Sinclair, 18, of Marthasville, were charged Sept. 13 with second-degree burglary.
Wentzville police said the witness called 911 when he saw the men coming out of the restaurant at 1798 Mall Parkway, and he gave a detailed description of the vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle in Warrenton.
A Wentzville police officer said he saw a pry bar on the rear floorboard. The officer also found money on the floorboard and in the glove compartment, along with two knit hats and gloves.
Sinclair and Bruning both denied involvement in the break-in, according to a court document.
The officer said Bruning is a suspect in several burglaries in St. Charles, Warren and Lincoln counties.
