CANDIDATE QUESTIONS

1. What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I believe that we need to get normal, hard working people back into government.

Someone that is willing to tackle the tough issues that no one wants to talk about and to represent the great citizens in Ward 2. I am 33 years old, but since a young age I have watched out political system. Time after time our government has failed the citizens of our country, each time creating a greater divide in our country. We are not going to get out of the mess we made in our country until we learn to working together again. We make our kids do it, but our politicians cannot figure it out. Now days we automatically write someone off if they are not from the same political party. We need to start finding things that we have in common again. If we all focus on what divides us, we will not move forward. I know it’s hard to work with someone that you don’t agree with, but being able to share our views is what makes our country great. If we all agreed there would be no need for government.

2. What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

To represent the citizens’ concerns in ward 2. That should be all of our highest priorities. If that is not your highest priority, you’re getting into the job for the wrong reasons.

3. What sets you apart from the other candidates?

My independence!! I believe the job is to represent the great people of our ward, not to do the work of the team that helped me get elected. Too often politicians go for the easy out and join a group that will help their campaign financially or socially. I also work well with anyone.

4. How long have you lived in Wentzville?

I have lived in Wentzville going on 5 years now. I think that is one of my biggest strengths. I’m not a lifelong resident that has years of anger and distrust for other groups in our town. I am looking at Wentzville in a new and refreshing light. I see how great we are, and how we can help move our city forward.

5. What's your favorite thing about Wentzville?

Wentzville has all the amenities of a big city with that small town feel. We have a great time every year at the Wabash Days festival. I love all the older buildings that we have downtown and the rich history that comes along with them.

6. What is the biggest problem in Wentzville?

I could say something about street creep, traffic, jobs, taxes and parks. The reason I did not is all of these issues come from the same place: Growth. Our biggest problem is stuck between the city we were and the city we’re becoming. We had a great boom in our population over the last decade. We still have a second boom coming; we have room in our city for another 25,000 residents. To say that our current city is only halfway to its full capacity sounds like a long shot given the current economic conditions, but one day it will be. The growth of our city is our biggest issue. I’m all for the growth of our city but we must be smart and plan our future.

7. What is your vision for Wentzville?

My vision of Wentzville is it’s the city everyone wants to live in. We’ll have a booming local economy with great paying jobs, a strong housing market, and parks and schools that will be second to none. This dream will take hard work from all but I know that together we can do it. There will be growing pains along the way, but we have learned a lot over the past few years that will minimize those pains. We have a great future in front of us, if we can realize it and work together we can become that city. I know that I am looking forward to it, are you?
